Oh no, it’s Monday again! I had a busy weekend so I didn’t manage to get much done for my little blog, but I ran across this tag created by Emily at Monsterlady’s Diary via Michelle at A Geek Girl’s Guide and wanted to join in on the fun.  If you’ve been reading Her Geekery for a while now, you probably know that I love characters from a crazy amount of fandoms. Like, just all over the place. So I’m excited to see how these questions go!

1. Which character was your first love?

Power Rangers Tommy Morphin' Time

Easy one! Tommy from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Because when I was five years old, Tommy was a major hottie.

2. How would you describe all the characters you love?

They’re all awesome, duh. I mean, this is a tough one to answer because I love all kinds of different characters, but I guess the recurring theme would be that they’re funny and smarty-pants.

3. A character you love that you think most people hate?

Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series. Don’t get me wrong, he was a terrible person. But when I was reading the series, I always wished he would redeem himself and then in Deathly Hallows, he does. That doesn’t excuse his awfulness, of course, but I was happy to see his character grow so much.

4. Does one character you like have a very strict personality?

Soul Eater Maka Albarn

I would say that Maka from Soul Eater has a pretty strict personality. She’s super strong-willed and follows the DWMA’s rules without question, making her one of Death’s most trusted students.

5. A character you think you wouldn’t get along with?

Super peppy, chipper people wear me out, so I think I’ll have to go with Chris Traeger from Parks and Rec for this one. I love him as a character, but if I knew him in person, he’d probably drive me bananas.

6. A character you’d travel the world with?

Doctor Who Ten Allons-y

No contest, I’d travel the world (and beyond!) with the Doctor. The tenth doctor, specifically, because he’s the best.

7. A character you’d rely on to help you get over your fears?

My biggest fears have to do with taking chances and letting people down, so I think Phoebe from Friends would be a great person to help me get over my fears since she’s such a free spirit. She does her own thing, sticks up for her friends, and she’s always willing to try new things.

8. Where do most of the characters you love come from?

It’s a toss-up between Harry Potter and Farscape. Both series have so many characters that I’m crazy about, and while Harry Potter has been a big part of my life since childhood, Farscape has brought me so much joy as an adult.

9. Character you’re most likely to have weird dreams about?

Parks and Recreation Ben Wyatt

Well, this is an easy one too since I’ve had a couple weird dreams about Ben Wyatt from Parks and Recreation. Smart, sarcastic, nerdy guys are definitely my kryptonite.

10. A minor character you love?

I’d consider Ser Davos a pretty minor character in Game of Thrones, but he was one of my absolute favorites in the series.  Such a sassy, kickass, sweetheart of a dude.

11. What character represents your mentality?

30 Rock Liz Lemon

I like to think that I’m a bizarro mix of Liz Lemon from 30 Rock,  Chandler from Friends, Retsuko from Aggretsuko, and Chuckie from Rugrats.  Lots of sarcasm and anxiety.

  1. Glad you liked my tag! The only characters I know here are Draco and Davos! But then again I’m sure those who read my original post don’t know all of the characters I put either. I remember I used to hate Draco at the beginning of the series too, but I agree he is well-developed and eventually I was happy he redeemed himself, and in the films, Tom Felton did a great job playing him.

    • I loved it, thanks for putting this tag together! There were definitely a few characters I had never heard of on yours, for sure, but that just means we get new fandoms to enjoy right? I agree, Tom Felton was an amazing Draco, and J.K. did such a fantastic job developing his character ❤️

  2. It also shows everyone’s different taste in fictional characters. I haven’t read the Harry Potter books in years but maybe I will read them again once I finish my list of stuff I still have to read.

    • Oh, you totally should! I reread them a little less than a year ago and it’s so much fun to catch little details that I was too impatient to look for as a kiddo.
