Well unfortunately, it’s Monday again. Back to the daily grind, but I did have a lot of fun this past weekend! I hope you all had a great weekend as well<3 I recently participated in a swap with the Geeks & Beauties Google+ group, and it was great! The theme was ‘Sweater Weather,’ but neither I nor my partner Chris really get weather that calls for sweaters (I’m in the OC and he’s in Orlando, FL) so we made it more of a Halloween/Awesome Things swap instead=)

My favorite thing that I got from Chris was this super cute jar full of candy! It’s decorated with Halloween-themed washi tape and filled with yummy things like Sixlets, Werthers Originals, and Caramel Apple Pops! Do you remember those? Green apple candy lollipops covered in caramel…I used to love those as a kid! I’m not going to lie, I’ve totally eaten all of them already.

Here’s the top of the jar. Aren’t those black cats the cutest?!

I also got The Shining and the original Carrie on DVD, which is awesome because they’re perfect Halloween movies! They really put the hubster and I in the Halloween spirit just in time for the holiday.

I’m SUPER excited about this copy of Howl’s Moving Castle! I’m a huge Miyazaki fan so of course I’ve seen his animated adaptation of the book (at least ten times) so I really can’t wait to start reading it. To be totally honest, I haven’t read an actual, physical book in quite a while thanks to my Kindle, so this will be a bit of an adjustment…but I think I’ll manage to get back into the swing of things=P

I was curious about the ‘Extras Inside’ sticker on the cover so I decided to check out just what those extras were. It’s an interview with the author, Diana Wynne Jones, so that’s pretty cool! Definitely something I’ll be checking out.

All in all, I think I made out pretty well! I love my goodies and I can’t wait to see what Chris thought of the stuff I sent him. If you’re interested in joining in on a future swap, you totally should! And if you’re a movie buff, check out Chris’ blog @movieguy84 or his movie reviews at Empower the Audience. This guy really knows his stuff! As always, thanks to the lovely ladies at Geeks & Beauties who organized this swap and made it so fun<3

You got some great stuff – that candy jar is adorable 🙂 The heat in Orlando is killing me so definitely no sweaters here 🙁

  2. Ohhh, if you like the movie you will definitely love Howl’s Moving Castle! I also read the book after watching the film and really appreciated how they were different. There’s a sequel worth reading too 🙂
