Last Friday I received the best surprise from the lovely Nichole of CuppaGeek! I’ve been super stressed at work lately so these Halloween goodies were just what I needed. Nichole had been nominated by Pepi for the Random Acts of Kindness award, where you do something awesome for a fellow blogger just because you can. Being the kickass lady that she is, she turned it into Random Acts of Tea-dom and I was lucky enough to receive one of her Great Pumpkin tea packages!
Firstly, look at how cute this little bag is! The skull cut-out and the Halloween-colored candy canes are adorable, but the bag is my favorite. I love the design and, although you can’t see this very well in the photo, there’s an orange and white stripey ribbon tying it closed…so perfect.
These amazing teas were waiting inside the bag for me. Look at how cute they are! They’re all fandom teas by Geeky Teas, an amazing tea company based out of Burbank, CA. The teas included were the Goblin King blend, the Pumpkin King brew, the Earl Grey, Hot, and EquesTEA…all of which look delicious!
First, I wanted to try the Pumpkin King blend, since The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my favorite movies to watch this time of year and Jack Skellington is my king!
It smelled SO YUMMY while it was steeping…the cinnamon and pumpkin spice wafting through the air totally reminded me of Autumn (and made me wish that it were chilly and actually felt like Autumn here in Orange County…). P.S. look at my cute sloth tea steeper! He was a gift from my wonderful husband, and he always makes me smile as I’m impatiently waiting for my tea to steep to perfection.
The color was absolutely gorgeous. I’m not going to lie, I don’t know a ton about tea. I rarely manage to steep tea for the correct length of time and it always turns out bitter, but this turned out great! The spices weren’t over-the-top, but they packed enough flavor to make this blend jump to my top five favorite teas!
It looks so pretty in my tea cup, but I couldn’t resist gulping it down after it cooled a bit. I definitely recommend this tea, it’s the perfect Halloween cuppa! Next I’m going to try the Goblin King blend, which includes strawberry & apple pieces, apricots, raspberry leaves, and other yummy goodies.
If you’ve never visited Nichole’s blog, CuppaGeek, you really should. She’s a tea fiend and a geeky gal to boot, and she’s incredibly sweet<3 She’s one of my favorite bloggers, and I love learning about tea from her. I’ve always liked tea but I never invested much time in learning about it until I happened across her blog, so if you’re interested in tea you should definately take a look at her blog! And if you don’t care about tea but you appreciate geeky ladies, well, you’ll still love her=) Anyway, I’m just about finished watching the entirety of 30 Rock, so I’m trying to decide between watching Sherlock or Supernatural next. Which do you recommend?
