Hey friends! Did you know that today is National Best Friends Day in the US? Be sure to tell your BFF that you think they’re awesome! I’m lucky to have a few best friends in my life, and I wish that I could be spending the day with them instead of stuck at work, boo.

To celebrate the day, I wanted to chat a little bit about some of my favorite BFFs on television. There are so many funny, adorable, and downright badass best friends on TV that it was hard to narrow down my list, but I think I managed to pick my absolute favorites!

1) Ann & Leslie – Parks and Recreation

When I think of BFFs in pop culture, these two come to mind first. Leslie and Ann have such an epic friendship with lots of inside jokes and heart-wrenching moments. They’re such different people, but they work well together and go so far out of their way to help the other time and time again. They’re definitely #friendshipgoals.

2) Ash & Pikachu – Pokémon

Okay, I know the trainer/Pokémon relationship is a little complex (I mean, is it just me or does forcing your Pokémon to battle kind of suck?) but these two are totally BFFs. Ash cares about each of his Pokémon, but his bond with Pikachu is so special. Definitely makes me wish I had a Pokémon bestie of my own!

3) Rory & Lorelai – Gilmore Girls

Yes, they’re related…but Rory and Lorelai are so much more than a mother and her daughter. While they both have their own sets of close friends, they were totally BFFs from the beginning. Although they went through some rough patches throughout the show, they always ended up closer as a result. Their sassy banter and snark give me life, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to hang out with these two every day.

4) Maka & Soul – Soul Eater

Maka and Soul’s friendship is so dang fun to watch! They’re both stubborn, and although they bicker often, they also care deeply for each other. Watching them grow into powerful partners while developing a strong friendship was super rewarding, so much so that I’ve managed to watch this anime more times than I remember=P

5) Troy & Abed – Community

Who isn’t crazy about Troy and Abed’s bromance? They’re hilarious! I love that they’re (almost) always on the same wavelength, and how cool is it that they’re always down to try each other’s bizarro ideas? They’re basically perfect for each other.

Bonus! All the Friends

I know this is cheating, but I couldn’t do a BFFs list without including my favorite friends! Yeah yeah, I know they’re a bit dysfunctional, but I don’t care. I have a feeling that if we were to look into the Friends universe now, thirteen years after the finale, we’d still see the group hanging out all together and laughing it up.

Over to you!

Are there any BFFs on TV that you’d add to the list? Let me know in the comments below!
