These was going to be my ‘A Day in the Life – Thanksgiving Style’ post…but it turns out that I was too busy lounging around and eating everything I could on Thanksgiving to remember to take pictures. So instead, I took my photos the day after Thanksgiving, and I’m pretty pleased with them! For those of you who don’t know, the A Day in the Life project is a new monthly photo challenge hosted by the lovely Dina Farmer. I’m thrilled about how much more comfortable I am with my camera ever since starting this blog. I’m beginning to understand how to handle a DSLR…though a lot of it is still pretty mystifying to me. Thank goodness for photo editing tools, haha!

9 a.m.

In an effort to truly understand my new Tarot cards, I’ve been trying to do a daily three card reading in the morning. Here’s my reading from yesterday! I still don’t know what the cards mean until I look them up, but I’ll get them all memorized eventually.

10 a.m.

Mornings are for coffee. Sometimes I substitute Chai Tea lattes instead, but after staying up SUPER late watching Jessica Jones on Thanksgiving…I needed some coffee. My mom got this cute mug for me a few Christmases ago, and I bought these comfy beer-themed pajama pants for Gary a couple years back. I don’t know what it is that makes men’s pajama pants so much more comfortable, but I’ve always preferred them to lady’s pajama pants.

11 a.m.

We’ve got this pretty lady for the weekend again! She’s such a big, clumsy goofball but she brings a lot of joy to our home. If only my kitty liked her half as much as we do…

12 p.m.

I don’t know about you guys, but I tend to make a lot of small revisions to my blog posts after I post them. Common sense would suggest I’d read them thoroughly and edit before posting…which I try to do, but I always seem to miss a few things that I feel like changing later.

1 p.m.

More Jessica Jones! Gary and I started watching on Wednesday night and finished last night…so it didn’t take us very long to tear through. Now I’m a little bummed that I have to wait so long for the new season, but those of you who have finished it might understand why I’m not quite as excited for another season as I was for this one. I’ll definitely still watch it because this show is amazing, but I’m still a little sad over how this season ended. I’m not sure what kind of person that makes me, haha.

2 p.m.

Spending time with this precious girl. I say this pretty often and it warrants looks of confusion from those around me, but my kitty is one of my very favorite people. Yeah yeah, I know she’s not actually a person…I’m not that crazy=P

3 p.m.

I’ve only just started Howl’s Moving Castle, but I’m loving it so far! It’s really cool to see the inspiration for the movie and the little changes that were made. I’ve also been spending more time journaling, and I think I have NaNoWriMo to thank for that. Sometimes I just sit and write my story, sometimes I write about my anxiety. It’s been a very therapeutic practice!

4 p.m.

Gary and I went to pick up a couple watches that we had polished by a local watch repairman. We bought this watch from a seller on Reddit a month or so ago, and I adore the simplicity of it. The seller knew it was part of the Mondaine Artist’s Collection, but didn’t know what year or artist it’s from. We haven’t been able to find one similar, so I’m pretty excited to have a watch that I’ve never seen before.

5 p.m.

We met up with a couple of my friends at a local food hall called the Anaheim Packing House. This place is pretty dang cool…it’s a restored agricultural packing house built in 1919, now home to unique restaurants, bars, and merchants. These yummy pastries are from the Crêpe Coop, which we ate at for dinner. Gary got a savory breakfast crêpe and I just got a tuna melt, but we split a dessert crêpe with strawberries, Nutella, and cream and it was so yummy.

6 p.m.

Drinks after dinner! I’m a huge fan of beer, but lately I’ve been wanting to get more into cocktails. I told the waitress that I wanted a mixed drink but had no idea what to get since I know pretty much nothing about liquor, and she whipped this pretty pink drink up for me=) I don’t remember what was in it, but it was delicious!

7 p.m.

I came home to an awesome surprise: my Secret Santa present! Danielle of From Girlie to Nerdy has been one of my favorite bloggers for a while, and now I love her even more<3 These are so perfect! The Life Aquatic is one of my favorite movies and I’ve been lusting after these Steve Zissou earrings by Sleepy Mountain for the past few months. Yay!!!

8 p.m.

I’m not a huge fan of Goose Island. A lot of people think they’re craft beer, but they’re owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev, which is the world’s largest brewer. AB InBev recently merged with SABMiller and now owns a ridiculous portion of the beer industry in terms of both sales and volume produced. They sure as hell aren’t craft beer. However, I don’t feel that being owned by any particular mass-producer makes you a bad brewery…Goose Island isn’t bad, I just hate their marketing scheme. With that said, their Bourbon County is a hugely sought-after beer and every Black Friday, liquor stores have insane lines for this stuff. Gary and I have a hook up at our favorite local liquor store though, so we snatched this baby up on Wednesday. I hate BBA (bourbon barrel aged) beers, but Gary loves ’em and wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

9 p.m.

Even more Jessica Jones! We watched from around 9 p.m. and finished a little before midnight. As I said before, I’m a little sad about having to wait so long for new episodes but I couldn’t help myself from watching so quickly! It’s SO GOOD.

Anyway, that was a day in my life! Lots of relaxing and enjoying time with friends. I can’t wait to see what you all post about…now that I’m done watching Jessica Jones I have tons of time to catch up on all of the posts I’ve been missing out on=P Here’s my A Day in the Life post from October, and if you want to learn more about this photography project, check out Dina’s post right here!

Yay I’m so glad your gifts arrived and that you loved them! I totally stalked your Pinterest boards for gift ideas 🙂

I feel like K go through 3 or 4 times after posting to fix stuff – should probably work on those editing skills lol.

    • I absolutely love them and that’s such a good idea! Pinterest is so useful:P And I’m such a weirdo about editing that I edit before I post, post, and then spend a good twenty minutes or so making changes. Oh well, that’s just so I am I guess, haha!

  2. I love your day this month! Don’t worry I almost completely failed on shooting for my day. I kept forgetting most of the time. It was pretty sad lol! You did so amazing! I love the tarot card idea. If they had Dragon Age ones I’d get them for the novelty of them.

    • I kept thinking about it on Thanksgiving…then I’d look around and my phone was nowhere near me and I was too lazy to get up and grab it=P Sooo day after Thanksgiving was much more manageable, haha! It looks like they did make Dragon Age tarot cards but all I can find now is that they’re selling for a lot of money on eBay. Like, $200 for a tarot deck? Um, no.

  3. Sounds like a great day! Tarot is something I’ve always wanted to get back into. I always used to do daily readings in high school, but just kind of stopped. And I agree that journaling can be so therapeutic for anxiety…I do the same thing.

    • I think that, aside from my medicine, journaling has been one of the most helpful things in overcoming my anxiety. You should pick your tarot back up! It’s been both fun and therapeutic for me=)

  4. Lovely pictures!!! And OMG Jessica Jones! And your kitty is lovely! <3 It's cool that you added the time! Lovved it!!! 🙂

What a cute day. I completely agree…men’s PJ pants are SOOO much comfier.

  6. I’m trying to hold off watching Jessica Jones until all my shows go on break, it looks so good! Also, that mug is so cute.

  7. Your Tarot deck looks so, so beautiful! And I do the same about editing posts after they are published, although I wish I would just let it go, and start working on new posts, instead of fretting over the old ones. All in all, it looks like you had a pretty awesome day! 🙂

  8. I watched Jessica Jones so quick and now I’m sad that we have to wait so long for the next installment, but at least new Peggy Carter is coming in the meantime 🙂
